Quick post before the end of the Love Month

This is a quick post before the end of the Love Month.

My fiancé and I were able to finalize our church, wedding reception and also the caterer. We decided not to get packages from restaurant and book each resource one at a time.

The above picture is a sneak peak. We’re in the Café’s Piano room because the main location is fully booked.

More post next month.

Wedding-on-a-budget Pinoy Style – Music

Quick post.

I think I’ve read some blogs looking for
Bossa Novasingers/band for a wedding. This type of music is in demand for this kind of event because its relaxing and soothing and good in the ears. The first time I heard all Sitti’s Bossa tracks when I was taking a dip in the hot pool in Boracay Tropics. They’ve been playing this over and over.

My suggestion you may download or buy Bossa Nova Wedding songs, burn several copies then play it during the reception.

I found a good site which features Bossa Nova wedding songs. The author was an Iloilo girl named
Tonet. She got playlists of these songs.

Wedding-on-a-budget Pinoy Style – Wedding Invites

I found this unique wedding invitation in
Twig and Thistle through SMP. This was created by Anna Melcon.

If you are great in illustration and very creative you can create this one of a kind invitation, print the illustration in a glossy white paper. I’ve seen and used a glossy white paper and hard paper when I was printing my Kung Hei Fat Choi card (which is not featured here). I bought 10 pieces for 30 Philippine pesos and envelope paper for 5 Philippine pesos each (2.5ft x 2.5ft.) plus ribbons, other specialized papers and printer inks.

I think my 1500 Philippine Peso budget is enough to create probably a hundred pieces of wedding invitations.

Wedding-on-a-budget Pinoy Style – Caterer and Reception

NOTE: This post is not helpful to those who are planning a classy and expensive wedding.

I was planning to have a beach themed wedding but we changed the theme after we have chosen our wedding location. The wedding location is somewhat historical, so the theme is like traditional and dramatic.

Check your wedding budget. The truth is I don’t want to spend more than a hundred pesos on a wedding so as much as possible we will DIY our wedding. Spending money on a coordinator is too much. The Pinoy wedding sites that we have are too classy. I tried to search for wedding-on-a-budget on their site but they didn’t have one. The resources they featured are not that practical.

I have this feeling (note: it’s just the feeling) that we (with the help my fiancé) can make our wedding practical yet intimate and memorable.

My eldest sister has a wedding planner friend and gave her ideas and relayed to me. At the same time we (with my fiancé) had an early wedding ocular since the beginning of this year and we will finalize our resources after the Pamamanhikan.

Through my sister’s friend, we’re able to know that wedding package with the restaurant or hotel is much expensive than booking the venue and caterer separately. During on our reception / caterer ocular, a restaurant gave us 69k package for 100 guests, which includes everything – reception venue, caterer and other wedding amenities. On the other hand certain caterer gave us a 39K almost the same wedding package and amenities without the venue. So we searched for venues within our church vicinity and they have given us 15k - to sum up its 54k for the reception. There is a difference of 15k. We can use the remaining 15k for other wedding stuff. We will finalize this in coming Saturday.

Therefore,

Plan your wedding more than a year before the event.

Prepare for wedding oculars. With this you can compare every venue and then you can save money and use them for different wedding accessories/resources. Find your church first then look for wedding reception areas within the vicinity of the church. Examples, if you want to be wed in Antipolo Cathedral then book a location in Jardin de Miramar. Then get book your desired caterer.

You may also ask your desired caterer for their possible wedding venues.

Consider village clubhouses, usually you can get the place for below 5K, I guess. I attended a friend’s wedding before and held their reception in Filinvest Clubhouse.

My inspiration is
StyleMePretty, they have given me ideas, also going to Bridal events, searching the internet for real weddings, talking non-stop to friends who knew how to plan the event and our imagination of the event.

Since I am a bit hesitant to expose our wedding plans and resources, I will feature everything after the wedding – which is more than a year after this.

Etchetera

Ever since I changed my work and work locations, I don’t blog a lot even if I have blogger access in the office. I haven’t touched my blog layout for more than a year. I wanted to change it but I just don’t have time and I think I almost forgot all html codes that I knew and I need basic tutorial again. Plus there is my sewing school. Luckily they allowed me to come to school once a week since its clashing with my work schedule right now.

Change topic.

I have this weirdest wedding reception idea and I don’t think it’s possible. I was thinking to rent an open lot within our village and then rent a tent then the caterer will just have to redesign the place since it is included in the wedding package. It’s just an idea. Since the wedding will take place during rainy season, we decided to have the wedding in a small church and then reception is just across the street from the church.

I found this picture when googling
Aqua and Red wedding. Isn’t it cute? I found the above picture in google images

Happy Valentines :)

Belated Happy Valentines day to all of you dear readers.

I spent the day with my fiancé; ate in the restaurant where we spent our first date and attended a Bridal Fair.

Its fun being in that event but the thing is they are all expensive. My fiancé and I plan to have an intimate and memorable wedding a.k.a practical wedding. We don’t want to be penniless after the blissful event.

We spent our weekends last January for oculars. We found
Jardin de Miramar a very fantastic location and also good on budget especially they have this SmartBride package. Though, we found some place which is dramatic yet much practical.

I’m a bit hesitant about posting my wedding plans on my blog because of some cases that the event might not be the wedding that you plan.

I might be posting my ideas about planning a practical wedding.

Murrieta Foreclosures

Isn’t it great that there are websites which can help people search and find properties & foreclosed homes? 2 years ago my friends at work tried searching for foreclosed properties online since they’re much cheaper than buying brand new houses.

Lately, I’ve been checking the web for foreclosed properties because I’ve been day dreaming of having a family of my own and owning a house of our own. So happen that I’ve stumble in

Quick

I’ve been busy. I entered myself in the sewing school.

I’ve taken
test and its fun. Try it.

I’m trying to motivate myself at work. My status is all about work.

My fiancé and I went to some wedding venues such as reception and church. Now I realized that it’s hard to plan a wedding.

I’m off to sewing school.

Happy Valentines.
