Spinach Dumplings

Good morning.

I had a tiring but great week. I enrolled myself in dressmaking/tailoring. Today I learned to measure and make pajama trousers and pajama blouse pattern and few tailoring tips. I can’t wait to learn sewing and make my own clothes.

I still couldn’t forget the spinach dumpling that I have eaten in Balai Laiya. I’ve been checking the internet for the recipe but I couldn’t find it. Here’s the picture of my friend’s plate. See the dumpling covered in red. That’s the spinach dumpling. It’s teamed up with grilled liempo, baked tahong, rice, veggie and mami.

All I can think is Blue

There’s one time I couldn’t sleep properly. I slept for more than 4 hours and that’s it. I tried to close my eyes and think of the things that could tire me but all I can think is color blue, white and a bit touch of red. I imagined blue shorts and white shirt. Blue flip flops, blue pillow cases, blue curtains, blue striped pillows, blue door, blue scenery – blue sky and blue sea and don’t forget the painting I saw in a movie – light blue octopus on a deep blue background.

Until now, all I can think is blue.

What’s wrong with me?

Last Weekend

- I went to Balai Laiya with friends from my previous employer. It took us more than 4 hours to get there.

- Ate lunch at Naranja Orange Restaurant. Their food was great. They’re looking for Waiter with EXPERIENCED!

- My boyfriend, Mabel and I, shared a room. I was doing
Doing-the-KarenCheng at the small bathroom mirror and saw the spooky thing behind me after I uploaded the photos in my computer.

- We enjoyed smelling the salty air, walking bare feet on the sand, swimming, taking wacky pictures, holding hand while walking with my boyfriend, took pre pre-nuptial pictures, drinking at night and the best part is eating time.

- They served breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was also my first time to eat spinach dumpling. Since we have lots of spinach plants at home, I’ll try and make one.

- And don’t forget the Porsche.

-Please see our pictures in my multiply site. I am going to update right after
SMART BRO fix my internet connection.

Behind me

I went to Balai Laiya Resort for overnight with friends from my previous employer. We had fun. I’ll put a separate post for that.

Anyway, Mabel, Reymond and I shared the room and I was doing a Doing-Like-Karen-Cheng thing and then when I uploaded the picture in my computer I saw something behind me. I know Mabel is at the door that time; Reymond was moving the bed and no one is behind me.

Please look closely. It's like a white thing with shades.

Greece

Just finished watching The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 and I was expecting it is a boring film but it’s not, as a matter fact, I enjoyed it and of course the scenes in Santorini, Greece. If ever I have a chance to buy a house I think I’ll make it white and blue and then plant bougainvilleas around it.

I also done watching
Eagle Eye and almost finished Adam Sandler’s Bedtime Stories.

Have you watched
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button? I think I finished it last week and I love the story, it’s really unique and don’t forget how gorgeous Brad Pitt is. It’s like watching again Meet Joe Black. Angelina Jolie is soooo damn lucky.

I need to make few more envelopes for my Kung Hei Fat Choi cards. I’ll be sending them probably by next week (I should send them next week). I’ve practicing making cards and envelopes because I’ll be designing my own wedding invitations.

And by the way, I’ll be at the beach with friends this coming weekend. So excited.

The Birdhouse

OLAH!

Today is my first rest day of the year and I’ve finished few of my chores during my off which are taking care of my own laundry and shoes, clean the bathroom and sweep the floor. Tomorrow I must clean the electric fan.

We have new boarders in our house – 2 birds residing on the top of our first floor window aside from the birds residing on our second floor window. I think they are a couple. I just discovered them last January 2 while playing with our dog, Kero. I am starting to think that our house is a birdhouse.

My internet connection is connecting intermittently so I can’t proceed renewing my domain. I need to get in touch first with the ISP.

I’ve seen few new books lying around our house so before my battle with my laundry I read synopsis of Eleven Minutes by Paulo Coelho and it is quite interesting and I saw his other novel The Alchemist in the other room so I think I’ll try reading The Alchemist first before Eleven Minutes.

Happy 2009

Happy New Year everyone!!!

Last night was a blast despite the migraine and vomiting and also a problem from the office. A colleague called yesterday before 12 midnight in the middle of our merry making because we missed a weekly conference call. I’ve been thinking about it the whole night and I know it’s my fault because I did not confirm if there will be a conference call that night. The only date that I confirmed was last December 24 and 25. I was so grumpy when I talked to him. So sorry… That’s the first thing that I’ll be dealing this 2009 and then keep living :)

For the merriment, I bought giant sparkles and whistling bomb or something (I think it’s a mild firecracker). My family is quite afraid of firecrackers but we love seeing it from afar so we only purchase sparkles for us to enjoy. If my father is with us I know he will buy notorious and noisy firecrackers. Anyways, I know the whistling bomb is quite cute so my guy cousin and I tried it. He lighted it up and then waited for the firecracker to go up like a rocket. For me it was really cute but my mom and my sister went ballistic after seeing it fly into different directions. Jeez…

We had the usual informal New Year’s Celebration midnight snack (or dinner). Almost all our neighbors prepared the same menu for the New Year’s – spaghetti and fruit salad. I think it’s the easiest thing to do I guess…

I think this year will be busy for me. Aside from being creative and productive, there will be events planning specially for my wedding and the coming of my first niece. So excited!
