September getaway!
I really don’t know where to start! I’ve been busy since August last week and the last time I blog about was Ruthie’s birthday.
It’s been dreadful weeks for me. I’ve been loaded with projects which I like and also the job which I have no interest. I’ve been physically and emotionally wrecked and the last thing I need is a vacation!
We’ve been planning this Guimaras Island getaway since March and Quickay made the plane reservations in April. I had saved enough money for the lounging and pocket money. I like planning a trip 3 months before so that I can separate my hard earned money from my needs, savings and trip. By September 10, I had enough money…hehehe…
By August, nagkaron ng oil spill sa Guimaras kaya we decided to go to Boracay Island – The most crowded beach in the Philippines…
So here the trip goes…
Day 1 – Sept 14.

I was out of the office around 4:30 AM and met my colleagues in Mc Donalds for breakfast. At 5:30 AM, we’re in the airport and I was excited because that was the first time I entered an airport and of course-my first plane ride..hehehehe…
Here’s what I don’t know!
- I don’t know what gate I will enter
- I don’t know what booth to go first
- I don’t know the run around in the airport
I guess I have to use Taga-lish… sorry…
Marami kaming first timers… Hindi lang ako nag-iisa…
- When we enter the airport gate, we have to go the baggage area to surrender our things and the baggage attendant had to put some sticky tags (ignorante nu?)
- Then, we have to surrender that carton ticket (which was immediately taken by Yeng) and surrender it to another booth then we had to wait..
- After paying 200 bucks for terminal fee, we have to take off our shoes (good thing, I wore slippers), buckled belts (the girl did not made me) and XRAY our hand carry’s.
It took almost 2 hours para dun…
The moment I enter the plane, I felt the butterflies in my stomach… I was thinking where will I sit? How will I know where I will sit…? But I casually asked the stewardess as if it wasn’t my first time (I should have known di ba?)… Tapos tinuro nya where, nung tinuro nya, Yay!
My first plane ride was amazing, nde ako natakot, nde ako nahilo at higit sa lahat, madaldal kausap ko at nalibang pa ako. He even took my first plane picture.
Si Nelson pala yung katabi ko. During the flight, he made the baby cry, tapos nawala yung cell phone..sabi pa nya Oh Shit!
After an hour (8AM), nasa Iloilo Airport na kami and of course, we took some pictures in the aiport…
Sakay kami ng van going to Aklan which is 4 to 5 hours bumpy ride at karamihan sa amin ay tulog, tulad ng isang ito…

Mga 2PM, nasa Island na kami and was fetch by Borcay tropics. Imagine, nde ako pumikit through out the trip kasi nde ako inaantok! Pagdating naming sa Island, nanghihina pa rin ako pero cge pa rin, gumala kami ng friends ko from the beach resort where we stayed going to station 1 which is very far…
So I asked kung eto na ang Jonah’s kasi Jony’s nakalagay, sabi nila oo, so we stayed there and order the famous shake.
Since I was in the island, I like fruit drinks talaga, so I ordered, watermelon shake… It’s so big and made me full…

We watched the most famous sunset in the Boracay…
Then, we headed back to the resort and sleep since I haven’t sleep since 5PM, Sept. 13.
Tapos naligo sa pool (a hot pool) until 12 midnight.
Day 2 – September 15
I think I woke up around 4AM to do some serious business inside the bathroom and after few minutes I was back in bed. I woke up again at 6AM because I think Hya was squished by Elrin and me. Yah, we three decided to share the bed since were petite (but my butt is not that petite eh) while Yeng and Desa shared the other bed. I was waked up by Hya’s “Ang sikip sikip naman” then Elrin getup and made lambing to Hya ehehehehe…
We watched TV for a while and prepare for breakfast around 8AM. When we got out of the room, the boys were already by the pool taking pictures (boys nowadays are addict to pictures).
We would like to eat at the garden but the tables prepared were only for 4 persons so we decided to eat inside the resto. The breakfast – that was the best breakfast I ever had… really… the food that I like … etc… Sabi nga eat all you can by the morning so that were still full until lunch kasi madami ngang activities… (Quickay is the best when planning trips and activities; I enjoyed every single day I stayed there…)
After the breakfast, kailangan magbihis ulit for the trip around the Island, I was so ecstatic kasi I’ve been to Boracay twice but that I never had a chance to do serious Island hopping… Pagkabihis, baba tapos ligo sa super cool and hot na pool and pictures ulit…
Tapos we rode this pampasaherong boat na may capacity na more than 20. 19 kami so tamang-tama lang. We went to Pucca (puka?) beach…
We left the puka beach and headed to another beach. Hindi sya ka-attractive tulad ng puka beach kasi mas deserted to and parang boring. In that beach, dun pala kami magla-lunch saka magke-cave trip. There are to caves in there pero yung isa nde naming binaba kasi it smells bat shit and the other one is like a crystal cave saka nde naman sya ka-dangerous. Gusto kong bumaba kaso sabi nila mapapahamak ako… Sabi ko pa marami na akong naranasan na ganung babaan… nung nakapag-decide ako Ana went down first followed by AJ and then me!
In Sagada there are numerous of caves. Isa yung binabaan namin. You can smell bat shits pero nde ganun kabaho. There are running cold water and also shining limestones. Small passage (which I bumped my head twice) and a chance to rappel!
Nde ganun ka-interesting yung cave pero mas interesting pa yung ibang bagay-bagay… ehehehe… like the pictures…
Nde mo rin maiiwasan na makahawak ng bat shit so I have to go the ocean, wash my shorts using sand as my soap (effective kasi the last time I went to the beach at dinatnan ako, I washed it with sand and ocean water!) Tapos may soap and tap water dun so wash ulit and kain ng seafoods…
Next trip was my favorite water activity… snorkeling… I really don’t want to grit my teeth in snorkeling goggles kasi somebody used it at nde ko kilala but I have no choice. In Puerto Galera, I even asked manong to remove the (yung air passage) kasi I can hold my breath naman for few seconds. Basta next time…
After that activities, swimming ulit sa pool at balak pumunta kina Jonah… As usual we love watching the sunset and take some pictures…
At dinner, Ms. Fren (former TL and already located in Dubai), treat us to dinner (even she’s not with us)… THANK YOU SO MUCH MS. FREN! SA UULITIN!
After that dinner, pagod na akong magroam around and I want to sleep! Naninibago na ako sa sarili ko kasi before I was so energetic at never akong mapagod! I really want to sit down by the beach, stare at the ocean for long hours… yun … gusto ko rin sanang tingnan yung sunrise pero nde ko naaabutan… Bale next time!
Day 3 – September 16
The three of us (Hya, Elrin and me) still wanted to taste Jonah’s famous shake kaya after breakfast naligo sa pool at umalis…
We bought some souvenirs, took pictures until we reached Jonah’s ordered a glassful of fruit shake… Tapos took pictures by the grotto tapos uwi to prepare ourselves for our trip back to Iloilo…
Nagbabad pa kami sa pool bago umakyat (for the last time).
By 12 noon were out of the hotel and headed back to Iloilo and wasted 5 hours of our time sitting inside the van…
As usual tulog ang mga tao…
We stayed at Highway 21 Hotel and ate dinner at Chicken House tapos headed back to the pension house. Sayang dapat pala sumama ako kina Yeng to roam Iloilo… Sayang… Instead balik kama ako kasi nga may upset stomach ako at inaantok… MWAHHH!)
Day 4 – September 17
Inikot naming ang Iloilo city especially the churches…. Nakapasok na rin ako sa SM Iloilo… At bumili ng pasalubong from Iloilo… Also we got lost wahahahaha!
Kakaiba pala ang jeepney sa Iloilo, sumakay kami wrong jeepney which is bounded to another town… Nagpanic ako when I saw the green trees.. Sabi ko were headed in the wrong side of town.. Tang nang driver to oh!
Pagdating sa pension house, we kept our mouth shut at nagprepare para umalis back to Manila…
So sad talaga! Tapos according to Yeng umuulan daw ng malakas sa Manila.
Sobrang dami naming first timers!
Then, tahimik na ang lahat… Nagkanya-kanyang uwi…
As for me, we boarded the bus to Cubao and I know my boyfriend is waiting for me. As I took a glance on the last vehicle na sinakyan ko on that day from vacation, parang it stared back until na mawala sa paningin ko. I shrugged my shoulders and walk away….
I met Reymond (I really like his name – Reymond) with Marlon – former office mate…
Geez
I watched TV for a while; load the pictures in the computer then natulog na ako….
Please check our picture links…
Until next vacation….
